Ash primarily uses a psychodynamic and relational approach with an attachment lens to provide a space where individuals can explore, reframe, and sometimes, just practice being present with the big, hard feelings that come from being human in this world. When you’re ready, Ash will be there to provide his company and, when asked, thoughts and expertise, as you work to find different tools to manage the challenges you face. Ash grounds all of his work in an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practice. Ash believes that, at its best, therapeutic relationships can become playgrounds where the seeds of creativity, playfulness, and joy can thrive. <image:caption>We are proud of the gravitational waves our Collective members have been creating since our launch in Summer 2022: Lizzy Appleby was featured at TEDx Wilmette’s April 2023 showcase with her talk Say What’s True: Everyday Bravery Can Change the World. Nat Duran was invited to contribute to Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth in Afterschool Programs and Opposing Anti-LGBTQ+ Attacks, a briefing paper that was a product of How Kids Learn Foundation and Temescal Associates. You can find Nat’s contributions throughout the above briefing paper, and in the subsequent blog posts that highlight some of their responses (linked here and here). Most of the Constellation team supported Center on Halsted’s Trans Youth and Family Action Summit in so many ways in March 2025. From piloting a new workshop, Grounding Ourselves in Solidarity, to hosting the Support Space and tabling in the Resource Fair, it was uplifting to be in community with so many rad young folks and their supportive adults. Jess Levine and Nat Duran brought our workshop Accessibility Lens: Creating Inclusive Spaces for Youth with Diverse Social Abilities to Youth Outlook’s Future Outlook conference in April 2025 - where Nat also filled in as a keynote speaker! Nat Duran once again presented Grounding Ourselves in Solidarity to a broader, national audience via Learning With Love: The 2025 PFLAG National Convention held this year in Chicago</image:caption>

      <image:title>Sarah Moskowitz-Gordon, LCSW - Sarah Moskowitz-Gordon, LCSW</image:title>
<image:caption>Pronouns: she/her Specialties: Anxiety/Depression, Life transitions, Grief, Parent support Values and Philosophy Sarah’s priority is ensuring that her clients feel understood and respected in their work together and believes that healing, acceptance, and change can only occur when a person feels safe and cared for. She views therapy fundamentally as a collaboration between the client and therapist—to jointly explore and make sense of a client’s past and current experiences, relationships, values, and needs in a gentle, curious, and non-judgmental way. Sarah works to make therapy feel grounding and supportive by creating a regular structure for sessions and having a shared sense of the client’s goals while also letting a client identify what feels important to focus on during each session together. Sarah values warmth and humor in exploring a client’s concerns and enjoys brainstorming ways to enhance and deepen the existing strengths and positive supports that a client has in their life alongside experimenting with new changes outside of session. Areas of Focus Sarah has experience supporting clients with understanding and managing anxiety, depression and mood variability, relationship conflict and trauma in relationships, loss and grief, and transitions to college and in parenthood. She has also supported clients in exploring aspects of their identities and managing challenges in coping behavior, such as disordered eating and self-injury. Sarah utilizes several approaches and practices in therapy, drawing most heavily on psychodynamic theory as well as relational and attachment theories—exploring how past experiences and learning shape how we perceive, respond, and act (both consciously and unconsciously) and identifying patterns and needs in relationships. Sarah values exploring challenges and problem-solving using motivational interviewing and a solution-focused approach. When it feels useful, Sarah supports clients by collaboratively brainstorming skills and activities to experiment with outside of session in order to increase awareness, relief, and self-confidence—these include identifying somatic needs and related body-based strategies, finding resources to meet other needs and support lifeskill management, and developing other forms of stress tolerance and self-care. Experience and training Sarah is a licensed clinical social worker and holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, where her clinical training included supporting adults going through homelessness to secure employment and providing individual counseling and group support to children and adults managing life change stress and anxiety. In addition to her work at Constellation Collective, Sarah sees clients through Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook, where she works with older teens and adults, primarily focused on needs related to anxiety, mood, life change stress, and parenting.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Who we are - Who we are</image:title>
<image:caption>We are a collection of people who believe deeply in two things: the power of community and the power of patterns. Our lives, relationships, and cultures are built on patterns. Without active effort, these patterns define us as clearly as constellations define the night sky (See the connection? We’re also punny people). Our organizational mission is to use our collective skills as therapists, facilitators, and educators to support, one relationship at a time, the creation of a world that is able to shine with the collective brilliance of all. We use a person-centered approach in all of our work — we believe that you know your life better than anyone else ever could. We believe that our role is to be your collaborator, companion, and accomplice as you move from where you are to where you’d like to be. But, mostly, we are excited to be a part of your journey as an individual, family, or organization.</image:caption>

We do this work through: Individual, group and family therapy Clinical consultation and supervision for therapists Professional learning opportunities in the form of workshops, cohort-style learning groups, and retreats for youth workers, educators, and helping professionals Therapeutically, we approach each client differently, and pick our tools according to your needs and preferences. We are looking to help you find acceptance, success, meaning, and/or anything else on your terms, as you define it. We share a commitment to practicing in anti-oppressive, harm reductive, and relational ways, but each clinician has their own eclectic approach. Our professional learning work is where we seek to collaborate with other professionals to make spaces more inclusive and affirming for marginalized groups, but especially LGBTQ+ young people. Our staff has deep knowledge of working with LGBTQ+ young people, programmatic strategy, and how to facilitate internal shifts in culture in sensitive and thoughtful ways.</image:caption>
